Nick was one of those rare individuals with a great many endearing traits, which meant you couldn’t help but like him. He would always take the time to speak and be genuinely interested, he was down to earth and approachable, he was reliable and honest, he was kind and caring and had a great sense of humour. His world revolved around his family whom he adored. One of my lasting memories is that of Nick dragging a huge Christmas tree into the office each year. I’m sure he will have left behind a immense void and be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Always friendly, approachable, helpful and very practical and always had an interesting story to relate, or some knowledge to share. Taken too soon.
We didn’t know Nick very well-nor for long-but could immediately tell that he was a gentle, thoughtful and kind man. We see all of these admirable qualities in John. I have found a quote which I think encapsulates Nick’s personality perfectly, following all we have read and heard today. “Being humble means recognising that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see what differences we can make in the lives of others”. Nick was a great neighbour and a good friend, We miss him so much.
Dear Nick - first we were children sledging down white hill - then we were teenagers thinking about our lives - your destiny was to help to care for your land, your farms and your family. All done in a relaxed calm gentlemanly manner with a twinkle of humour.. then you left so suddenly.. I feel privileged and blessed to have been a small part in your life and will remember you with love, you are most sadly missed xx thank you for being wonderful unique you x

Remembering Nick for his hard work, kindness and thoughtfulness. He was a truly unique and genuine individual, a wonderful family man who is greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sadly I didn't know Nick for as long as I would have liked, but I will always remember with a smile and a chuckle our little chats at the office, particularly when he came to clean up after the Christmas tree. Always had a warm smile and a kind word for you, and always made you laugh. God bless Nick, a true gentleman. You will always be missed.

Growing up on and around the farm, I have nice memories of Nick. He was always warm and pleasant towards us - even though we were probably in the way! We had a great childhood on his estate and I will always be grateful for that. A truly good man who will be missed.
